Starting October 17th, Worlds Apart will have collection barrels at both our Lexington Green and High Street locations. God's Pantry works with over 275 facilities to aid in the fight against hunger. From October 17th to October 31st, we will be collecting cans and giving a discount of 20% off one item for any customer that donates cans. This is the least we can do and we are so happy to participate with God's Pantry in the fight against hunger!

One of this Fall's fashion trends is mixing prints. Now we know this might be a little wild and not for everyone, but is really one of the most fun ways to mix up your personal style this upcoming season. Transitioning from Summer to Fall can be difficult, but it doesn't have to be. Pair Summer prints with more current Fall prints for a killer combo. Leopards and stripes, florals and snake skins, i-kat and well, whatever! If you are loving this trend, but finding it difficult to pair some of these pieces, you can see some more guidelines here. The only rule we have for you is to have fun and don't be afraid to get funky with it!

With Wedding Season already upon us, it is time to go over the Do's and Do Not's of being a Wedding Guest, a Wedding Guest of a Guest, Bridesmaid, Maid of Honor, and any and every other role there is in attending a wedding.

Do: Make a champagne toast celebrating how happy the bride and groom will be.
Do Not: Drink so much champagne that you forget to make a toast and in the end, you are the only one that is happy.

Do: Choose a beautiful dress (there's plenty at Worlds Apart) to feel and look gorgeous on the big day.

In the Nude
This is one of the best tricks for everyone. Buy some sandals or pumps that match your skin color of your leg and instantly appear thinner. A nude heel not only gives you height, but also gives the illusion that your leg is longer creating a skinny effect!

Get Low With It
Wear a deep V neck top or dress and instantly "shape up". By exposing your skin between your chin and waist in a V shape, you will instantly create a new focal point. Not only does your skin draw attention to the center line of your body, the V shape creates a seemingly longer torso that makes you look thinner and taller!

Up and Away

Patriotic Fruit Pizza

Ok, this fruit pizza is the bomb and one of my personal Fourth of July traditions. It is so easy to make and you can really use the fruit to create a patriotic dessert for this weekend's cookouts. For any non-Fourth of July celebration, you can add kiwis and grapes for a delicious topping. Hope you enjoy!

Fruit Pizza
Ingredients:
- 1 package store bought sugar cookie dough
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- 1 cup confectioners sugar

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Flatten cookie dough into a pizza circle or a rectangle on a cookie sheet. Bake for 11 to 15 minutes until the dough is firm to the touch. Let cool completely. Mix the cream cheese and sugar. Spread cream cheese mixture over the cooled cookie dough. Decorate with the fruit. Refrigerate until set - about 30 minutes. Store in refrigerator.

It is delish! Watch it disappear!

This is my most recent purchase from the store. It is a Michael Stars' tunic that is just awesome. It is so comfortable and I just love the color. Right now and into the Summer, I will wear it over skinny or regular jeans or pair it with some white pants and heels. I cannot wait for the fall though when I can put on some boots and throw my leather jacket over it. I LOVE transitional pieces! We have it in white and in this great color shown!

In celebration of Earth Day tomorrow...here are a few facts about the Earth that we think our interesting and good to know!

- Recycling one aluminum can saves enough energy to watch a TV for three hours -it's equivalent to half a gallon of gasoline.
- If every newspaper was recycled, we could save about 250,000 trees each year. Unfortunately only 27% of all American newspapers are recycled.
- April 22 is the first official day of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and of Fall in the Southern hemisphere and was chosen to be Earth Day for this reason.

Worlds Apart will be participating in a fashion show this Saturday at 5:00 PM at the Hilton Suites. There is a $5 admission which benefits a village in Haiti wrecked by the recent earthquake. CapacityInc. is the host and is a wonderful organization. CapacityInc.'s goal is to lift women out of poverty and give them the inspiration to get a successful job, start their own business, or just succeed with positive role models.
